I've been really getting into DN Angel - it has most of the trademark stuff I look for in a new anime series. Wolf's Rain, though not so new anymore, has also been pretty good. E's Otherwise has been so-so - nothing very groundbreaking or interesting in the first two episodes, but things did pick up somewhat in episode 3.

But I have to say that Matantei Loki Ragnarok is turning out to be quite amusing, if somewhat schizophrenic. ^_^; After seeing episode 1, I was expecting it to be some sort of chibi-horror show, but episode 2 threw all that right out the window. And why does Mayura remind me of a slightly more sedate Excel? :)

Good stuff - any series that shows a Norse thunder god as a Japanese teenager selling okonomiyaki works in my books. 8)

So, can someone give a short synopsis of Stellvia?

I already sort of did a quick synopsis of Stellvia, but basically it is an anime about an University in Space called Stellvia whose purpose is to protect the Milky Way Galaxy from the supernova explosions like the one that occured in 2167 and ravaged the Earth. It takes place a few centuries after that event in 2356 when the 'Second Impact' is coming. (Sorry, just had to borrow an EVA term. :D) It has a lot of explanations, but it's starting to pick up the pace. Episode 5 is going to have the students learn to play a soccer-like game in space using their spaceships, so should be interesting and have more action than they've shown thus far. I'm starting to see similarities with the Ender's Game novel (One of the best sci-fi novels I've ever read) I think the best thing about Stellvia thus far though is it's opening theme. :)

Lotta people been recommending Last Exile. It looks impressive (Most GONZO animes are) but it hasn't hooked me just yet. There's quite a few terms they used (Quite a few of them German in origin) that you won't get right away and how they are all linked together isn't apparent so it's kind of hard to understand, but maybe it'll become easier to digest later on. It's sort of like how I felt when I watched Macross (Robotech) the first time, was bored by it at first with them babbling about Protoculture and what-not but became more interesting and made more sense later on.
