You know, I really hate to do this. But.... SHE DIED and then came back. The bandages are (possibly) symbolic. Darnit, now I have to see the series again to see what episode it is, but somewhere in there... rei has the SAME bandages as rei does with one time she gets injured only opposite side (I.E. Auka right arm bandage = rei left arm bandage) I kid you not. My friend noticed it. Still don't know symbolically what it means. But it was funny.
Possibly they just wanted to give asuka the whole, "Hey look, I was in a really bad battle look." or not... I'm almost positive that it wa shinji's subconscience will that brought her back. it's all love baby
Even in a crowd we are alone

hmm, the angels all blew up due to their kai (core/ pearl of light) being destroyed, this results in big ass explosion, the production series eva kai were not destroyed.......

hmm, maya a lesbian? could be true...but in one of the deleted scenes, hibuki (guy with glasses) talks to misato, and misato asks him about his date with maya

Kill all humans
Do it now!

If yes, where was that?
yews, its a few seconds after shinji starts strangling asuka (in misatos apartment), the bit where he says everyone can just go and die

yes but there were some angels that were destroyed and they didn't blow up. Just look at my post i think i listed all of them. The second angel got stabbed right in that "pearl of light" and it never blew up. But tere sprobalby some kind of weird explination for that.

second angel???, you mean the first to attack tokyo 3?? that was the third angel (adam, lillith, Sachiel) (bit of trivia, sachiel was supposed to be the angel of the moon....) he did actualy blow up......oh no self ditruct.......is that the eva 's true form???, but yes your quite right, not every angel blew up, i only explained why, when i said all the angels blew up, i meant figuratively in relation to the ones blowing up due to their kei being distroyed.........maybe i should have explained better....

I found some other stuff:

The fig leaf, according to legend, is the symbol of the original sin which entangled Adam and Eve. It reminds us of the human who ate the Fruit of Wisdom.
yeah well, her syncronisation was going downhill by that point in the series...... but, the loss of the head wouldave killed her, so they cut the conections......
Gods in his heaven. All's right with the world....hmm

Lone Wolf wrote: At the end, you also see that she is bandaged. I think that means she had medical attention after the fight. Why would one use first aid equipment on someone who is obviously dead? That means she was rescued from her Eva and recieved medical attention. The rescuers gave her medical attention because she had the possibility of surviving.

BOOYAKA! :P :x
Who is going to give her medical attention? Everyone else is within the LCL as well...also as we have already stated, everyone went into the LCL regardless of if they were dead or alive. This means that either Shinji brought her back or she herself decided to come back. The point is moot and I'm curious why people need to argue if she is dead or not...regardless she was in the LCL like EVERYONE on earth.

Booyaka? No, it's Ma mi mu me mo! If you get this, you are cool.

Klicks wrote:While in the series he gives in and becomes one with everyone else, this is the happy ending, yet in a way, if compared to the movie, it shows that Shinji is still a coward.
No the ending is identical. Shinji chose to reject that "ideal" reality in the TV show too...that was representative of the LCL. That "happy" scene with everyone else is where he rejects it (symbolized by the glass breaking). I honestly don't know where you are getting that he chose to stay and be united..that would be a very negative ending...it would say that it's ok to run away from your problems and to choose a false existence. Although the movie may show him physically coming back, I thought the symbolic ending of everyone clapping and him saying lines about his self-worth and whatnot would be an indication that he was coming back to reality.
Lone Wolf wrote:Q) Is Maya Ibuki a lesbian? Does she have feelings for Ritsuko?

A) Yes. Although Maya looks up to Ritsuko as her "sempai", there was clearly an intention to portray Maya's feelings towards Ritsuko as something much more complicated with deliberate gay overtones. When the phantom Rei/Ritsuko embraces Ritsuko during the film, The End of Evangelion, Maya lets a gasp of "ecstacy" escape (as described by Anno). Further, in the Newtype filmbook for End of Evangelion, Maya's final lines before she reverts to LCL are surrounded by hearts. It's clear that Gainax intended Maya to be a character with, at the very least, decisively lesbian tendancies.
First off, I THINK this was covered in another thread, but I could be wrong and I do hate necroposting.

You are correct, but the most convincing evidence is what Ritsuko types on Maya's keyboard. She types "I need/want you."

Yeah, I have that scene too and my limited Japanese tells me the same thing. However, she could be a closet Lesbian. A better description would be that she loved Ritsuko and not necessarily a hardcore lesbian perse in that she only likes women. It's possible she only loves Ristsuko that way from her respect for her and whatnot...Oh yeah and that guys name was Hyuga not Hibuki...

well, couldnt remeber his name, thats why i felt the need to describe him.....

the 'I need you' can just be an emotional thing, this final act is what maya wanted to see, maya more than likely went to pieces after ritsuko was jailed, she lost her role model in life.....so, it can just be an emotional attachment
