As for attention hoggin...that's a far call. I would call it, spaming the thread because people need a dose of reality.

back to the topic. EoE had no meaning.

Well, if that is your opinion, that's how it is. I just thought your previous point came across as insulting and berating. Obviously it wasn't since you say so and I apologize, but be more careful. I personally like Eva quite a bit and hold the opposite opinion as yours (as I am allowed too).

lol, don't worry. I like Eva quite a lot myself also. The artwork as well as some of the psychology are very well done, although the psychology could be suspect, but it's shock value is great enough that most peoples assumptions are correct.

See you say psychology and yet you said earlier it has no meaning...maybe you meant just the "f'ed up"-ness of it as psychological (shrug). Either way no problems here, I don't think any of us will force you to see something if you don't see it there.

People are taking the Adam and Eve thing way to far. The Bible is not a history book. It was never meant to be accurate to history or tell facts. The purpose of the Bible is to give lessons, ideas, and teachings. It is a base and a step for our personal beliefs. So Adam and Eve probally never exsisted but the purpose of that story is to teach and give an idea, not give the begining of mankind. I don't feel like going into the message of the Bible story but you should use the message when trying to link it to EoE. I can't because I have yet to see it. I want to see it really bad now though.

woah wait a minuite ... when did i take a literalist interpretation of the bible? I explained one of my teachers views of what the story of adam and eve could have represented symbolicaly ... or a reasonable account of what could have happened of an omnipotent god actualy went and created man as it's stated in the bible. Personaly i couldn't care less for religion, after studying world religion i jsut noticed that msot of the world religions are the exact same thing, just with slightly different fine print. To me the bible is nothing but a collection of old/odd stories and interesting old sayings that make up a guide that suggests a better way to lead you life. However it is interesting to study the world religions as they make fairly good windows to view forign cultures with, exspecialy eastern religions (Buddhism in particular).

true, but i see more then i really want to, i just strip down the storyline, the dramatics, and everything else until i come to a general understanding of teh artwork and why its great. I can leave the understanding and symbolisim to others to figure out because i'm sure that everybody else will be doing that. all i'll do, is apreciate the work that went into the creation.

IC..well, in all honesty, I think if you strip back all that you get the meaning (that you say isn't there). The meaning or message about people in general and our "AT fields," self-worth and so on.

Oh well...live and let live...

PERSONALLY I LIKED THE DVD THAT CAME SEPARATE FROM THE PERFECT BOX SET CALLED "THE END OF EVANGELION" THE BACK SAID ITS WAS MEANT TO REPLACE EP25 AND 26. THIS ONE IS ALOT MORE UNDERSTANDABLE THEN THE OTHER 25 AND 26.

Uhm...your caps-lock key is on...perhaps you shouldn't be "yelling" so much (caps generally mean yelling within netiquette).

As for EoE, yeah it's an alternative ending to the TV ending...well not really alternate since the same message and things occur. Just one has more details about it. I actually prefer the TV episodes more since it deals more in depth with the message.

hmm, but eps 25 and 26 had more meaning, and a more uplifting end......i felt better watching the original eps than the film, but i also liked asukas final fight, but hey its all good to me

BTW, does anyone know where i can find info about NERV HQ, supposed prequel to eva, might exist, might not.....but, ive seen some artwork, but might just be some cruel trick being played on me (this happens a lot)
I play violent computer games! I could snap at any minute!!!!
