Umm, actually I started off watching 'good' anime, fell away from anime, watched DBZ, and got back into 'good' anime again. And guess what? I still like DBZ. I just don't think it's the best series in existence. In fact, I know it's not.CaTaClYsM wrote:I know alot of people who liked DBZ before that saw what good anime was like, none of them like dbz anymore.
Honestly, no, we can't all agree. I believe DBZ has a plot, just that it gets lost at points during the series (because they indeed stretched it out *far* too long). Is the plot complex? As much as you want to make it. Some people see great depths of emotion and struggle in DBZ, some people see pointless fighting. What you're doing is minimizing the series into its basest form, which can be done with anything.Glenn the Frog wrote:Can we all agree that DBZ isn't a good anime? I mean nobody in the world except for kids fifth grade and below can honestly believe that DBZ has something resembling a plot.
People constantly make the things they don't like seem simple, and make the things they do like seem more sophisticated. I think it's rather sad that people can't just give credit where credit is due. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying DBZ is great, I'm just saying that DBZ does not automatically=stupidity, lack of depth, retardation, etc.
DBZ fanboys on the other hand, well that's a different story...
