My top choice would have to be the Fruits Basket songs....*shudders* such crappy songs...such a crappy singer....
I pray to got you're talking about the DUB opening/ending of Furuba... Cuz the Japanese op/ed are fantastic. And if you wanna call Horie Yui a horrible singer, you might as well call her a horrible voice actress, too. (She's done such obviously crappy roles.. you know.. Naru... Tohru... oh wait... Those weren't crappy roles... :P )

And my opinion on worst op and ed?

Worst opening most assuredly goes to Berserk. It's a shoe-in.
Runner up for worst op is DBZ dub op.

Worst ending, I give to "Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure", with it's oddball song and fucked up having nothing to do with the show CG animation of cats outside a window with a fan going. :P

Runner up for worst ed. is Hellsing. I hate that song :P
Alcohol, Drugs, Overdrive, Noise, Neon Lights, Party People, Revolution

I'd have to say the "Tekkaman Blade II" opening theme is pretty crappy. It sounds like a techno version of a Cinco de Mayo parade, with the whiny Asian voices in the foreground. It's like an Alvin and the Chipmunks version of Edith from "All in the Family".

I can't stand the high-pitched sounds those Japanese vocalists produce in most anime songs anyway. Why can't Gainax or ADV get ZZ Top or Eric Clapton on the horn, and get them to do a decent opening theme? Even Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show would be cool.

On a side note (I use that phrase a lot), I keep seeing all these cheesy Japanese music videos on the International Channel, and I just laugh my head off. There's nothing like seeing a bunch of scrawny Japanese teenagers trying to look like some flashy techno Bloods or Crips.

My friend and I found a complete box set of NieA 7 for $70 (she claimed she had seen it online for over $150. And I have to say, it is a pretty funny anime, but whoever the hell sings the opening (I think it's the same person who sang the ending in Lain) he sounds like he is slowly and painfully dying of lung cancer. I mean. . . the Lain ending you can get used to. This just tries to reach inside your ears and strangle your brain.

I've gotta say that the Escaflowne ED song was really annoying to listen to. There wasn't enough tonality in the song to keep my ears from being agitated ^^;

As for opening, I'm not too pleased with the Naruto OP (at least for the first couple of episodes, haven't watched it past 10). It starts with a nice arpeggio, but somehow, the song didn't end up having as much kick as I was expecting. Kinda builds up, but doesn't give you a nice rush listening to it.

OK, what about Fox's butchering of Cardcaptor Sakura? If I remember correctly (repressed memories and all), that opening sucked.

Another butchered song was the third (i think) intro for MKR...Hikari to Kage o Dakishimeta Mama (Embracing the Light and Darkness)

The singer sounded like Sugar Baby on Helium....

Oh man, as much as I *love* Escaflowne, I couldn't agree more. I *hate* the ending song, Mystic Eyes.

Then again with lines like:
"Dont Stop Baby!"

How can I not love it?!
