Ep one was AWESOME at laying down a "groundbase" for the series AND with the same director and character designer's antics to keep things rolling... Funny stuff, and yes KOTOKO (I've) is singing the themes, again...

Their called Pocky's. They are kinda snack in japan. They come in many flavors, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and orange. Its one of those things that always seem to make its way to cons. They are incredibly popular.
