PS2 Xenosaga FMV extraction.
Is there any way to pull the CG off the PS2 CD directly? Or do I need to capture them from my TV for editing...

One of the weird things about PS2 games is that unlike PS1 games, you can't rip the FMV's right onto the computer. Apparently they're like built into the game or something, so stuff like Xenosaga or Final Fantasy X you have to buy a capture card and hook the video input into the PS2 and into the card and capture the footage. I suggest you browse this forum for capture card recommendations.

I think it really depends on what sceens you are going to attempt to extract from Xenosaga. I am pretty sure that the majority of the cut-scenes are actually rendered. However, I'm also sure that some scenes are definately some sort of pre rendered video though. For instance, when KOS-MOS uses the uhh...what was it? Oh yeah the "X-Buster" move, you can tell that is pre done. Good luck with the extraction.

You can't for Xenosaga, at least not for all videos. Only a few videos are prerendered, the rest is in game meaning they will be generated by the console in real time. So I would recommend to buy a capture card to capture the videos while your playing the game. If you still want to extract the few cgs their is in xenosaga, I belive it's been covered here:http://www.ps2ownz.com/forums/showthrea ... eadid=3469
