A while back, I ran into an excellent informational site on all kinds of media conversion, but, stupidly, forgot to save a local copy of all the guides I thought I'd need. Now, the site isn't there any more.

If anyone has a mirror of the information formerly here (the somewhat famed Anime Tools page), or just any information at all on what happened to the site, please reply.

Also, if anyone has any info about saving screencapture sequences to persistent video formats (since that's the specific info I need), please reply as well.
