Fushigi Yuugi - When Tamahome's entire family got killed and his little sister (only 3 - 4 y/o) died in his arms as she was talking to him... I cried for an entire week after those 2 episodes. Definitely for me, the saddest moment in anime... a true tragedy...

Digimon (season 2)- When Tai was trying to make his move on Sora, but then realized she really liked Matt. This was when Matt was having his concert and Tai was going to ask Sora to go with him to it. But she had rather take a chance and ask Matt, then just go with Tai. Poor guy looked like he was definitely crushed.
Medabots- When Ikki lost Metabee's medal and then Metabee joined the Rubber Robo Gang because he thought Ikki had abandonnned him. What I found sad was when they found eachother, Ikki finally made Metabee listen to him. So he explained everything and Metabee finally understood that he took everything the wrong way.
Pokémon- When Charizard left Ash at that Charirific Valley (or something). I thought that was so sad. This one would probably be the most saddest moment, other than the first episode.
Pokémon- When Ash thought Pikachu was going to leave him and stay with all these other Pikachus. But then they got back together at the end. Where would Pokémon be without their mascot?!
Metropolis- At the very end when Tima dies. But in her case, I guess we can say destroyed, since she's a robot.
Pokémon- When Ash actually lost in the Indigo league.
***Yay! My 100th post.

Man, would you guys mind labeling your spoilers?! sheesh...
Anyway, spoilers up ahead!!!
When Gren dies in Cowboy Bebop (Jupiter Jazz). I found him to be a very interesting character. I thought the part where he looked into Spike's eyes and told him about Julia was really touching. *sniff* and the playing of Space Lion (a great Bebop song) didn't tone the sadness either.
When Wolfwood dies in Trigun. Why is it that all my favorite characters always die?
The first and second Kenshin OVA series. My god, could they be any sadder?!
The ending of Serial Experiments Lain made me cry. It wasn't really sad, but it really made me bawl out. Something about it...
The ending to Jin-Roh is one of my favorite endings, but it has to be one of the most depressing endings ever. That part where Kei ran up to Fuse and started speaking lines from Little Red Riding ('Mother, what teeth you have') and Fuse, out of the tension, accidentaly (?) shot her. As Kei fell to the ground Fuse had the saddest expression on his face. I knew that he was not mentally destroyed.

Come on. You gotta think about this for a moment. We're mentionning the saddest moments. Most sad moments are at the end and/or are a major part. The major parts are left imprinted on our minds. So of course there will be spoilers, but everyone who hasn't seen the ending of something should always know there's a risk of it getting spoiled for them. I, on the other hand, don't care if someone spoils something for me because hearing about it and seeing it for yourself are 2 totally different experiences.BigshotSpike wrote:Man, would you guys mind labeling your spoilers?! sheesh...
