Heh, the first bit of YYH I watched was the movie - subtitled because (I agree) the english va's for that were pretty bad. But I'd already fallen in love with the voices from the songs - I heard those before I saw the anime, so I was already inclined to Hiei, Kurama, and Kuwabara's Japanese voices. Hearing the new dubs, I thought they were *much* better than the early ones for that movie, but I'll watch in Japanese. I just don't think Hiei is Hiei unless he has the deepest voice of the lot of them. And Kuwabara just isn't the same if he doesn't squeel like a girl when he sees Yukina. ;pryuu_hime13 wrote:I've never heard the original Japanese YYH...just the dubs on CN. Well, I've seen the movie subbed, but only because the dub voices are different from the TV show and they annoy me. ::grumbles about Kuwabar's annoyingly flat movie voice::

They are bringing it back in april, so all through february and march they will show rerunsBebop0083 wrote:of what ive heard they should be having new eps around March im guessing they want to run the Spirit Detective saga and Dark Tournament saga one last time. Toonami likes to beat things to death before showing any thing new. if i were you guys i would just buy the eps on dvd that way you can see them uncut and not have to see them butchered on CN. though ill have to watch the Sensui arc on CN cause im broke and cant afford the new YYH dvds after Dark Tournament.

No, it's just that some people think it makes them sound cool and more hardcore if they say they only like the subs.Cloud Clone wrote:Awww, you're so supportive! I do enjoy dubs (Are they really that bad?)

And some people are in love with certain voices. ;pJ-0080 wrote:No, it's just that some people think it makes them sound cool and more hardcore if they say they only like the subs.Cloud Clone wrote:Awww, you're so supportive! I do enjoy dubs (Are they really that bad?)
I don't care why other people watch YYH subtitled - I do it for Hiei and Kurama's voice actors. The other characters' voices are just a bonus to that. For me, the Japanese voices made the characters (in the original soundtracks since they sung the theme songs) - I can't watch the dubbed because of that. I was biased before I even saw the series (dubbed *or* subbed) from the songs. So it has nothing to do with wanting to sound cool or hardcore - I'm an audio fangirl of the original Japanese voice actors and the characters they play. ^_^

I have an obsession with Tomokazu Seki and Takehito Koyasu. I looooove them so much!!!! Doesn't Nozomu something or other, who does the voice of Yusuke, also do the voice of Naoe Nagi from WK?
