chabols: the manga is infinitely better than the anime.
all yall: with the exception of anything involving pedro, excel saga isnt funny at all. random is good, but you cant base an entire series around randomness. thats why i like rejected, its short enough for the randomness to not start to get boring.
if you want randomness (not funny randomness) watch the first episode of "travellers of darkness with hats and books," confused the fuck out of me.
i don't under stand what you mean by randomness... do you mean all the slap stick comedy... can you honestly say that when you saw good excel kill bad excel and then the guy turn around you did not bust into laughter my got i almost died ?
I found the two most entertaining anime

Don't forget Jungle wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu and the somehow even funnier Jungle wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu Deluxe.Mr Pilkington wrote:Back on topic, "entertainment" value-wise I cannot get enough of:
Excel Saga

FLCL is awesome! I still don't get all of it, but it doesn't really matter, 'cuz I still thought it was really funny! It proves once again that excessive slapstick comedy can completely overshadow the key points of an expressive medium except to only the most keen of observers! Ah, I love parts of this horrible world we live in...

I totally agree with you Cloud Clone I think that sometimes comedy does overshadow the true point of the story. I think FLCL should have been longer cuz there are only 6 episodes Toonami should put it back on. I guess they're letting the other anime get a chance to be on t.v and get at least 30 min. of fame 8)

Very few series actually make me burst out laughing, but since that in itself is an incredible feat... yeah.
Comedy: Kodocha (Child's Play) is definately my favorite comedy anime. Many of the jokes/scenes are utterly hilarious because they're also hilarious IRL and are entirely believable (vs. hordes of kawaii soldiers decimating the earth in Excel, funny too, but...). Not only that, but half the time you don't see them coming, which ups the comedic factor ten-fold.
Action: In terms of something belonging to the action genre, I'm not sure(where's my list of "anime I've seen" when I need it??), but action that's nifty in general without suffering from poor animation (sorry Hellsing, coolness only gets one so far) Cowboy Bebop.

AMV Progress:
"D-Me" (default title until something cooler occurs to me) - uh... this one's still in the "I wanna make it" stage, but did get to 5% at one point.

I actually think that Cowboy Bebop is one of the BEST shows out there. There have been so many things compacted together into this big dramatic show. I think that the creators did a very nice job in making CB. I like the music in it the cool-style of every character. It's just marvelous.
My favorite character is ED cuz she's just so smart and carefree....not careless!!
