Anime goth.

I wasn't even aware that there was a goth genre in anime. Sure, some animes have a darker atmospere than others (as others others have mentioned, Lain), but I never actually considered them to be "goth."
I guess you could say that Vampire Hunter D and Blood are "goth" anime.

There probably aren't too many "goth" anime (at least to my knowledge) or at least popular titles. The goth subculture is pretty twisted and quite raw.

You might call Hanajima from Fruits Basket a bit goth. When she's not in the school uniform anyways.

goths are scary, but gothic rock is cool. though i only ever call it gothic rock to piss of my freinds who hate goths more than i do

I think most goth hatred comes from the fact that the vast majority of "goths" are kind of um...posers. It's like their nerds, outcasts, losers, etc that try and compensate for it by trying to look all "scary" and nonconformist...even though deep down inside, that's not who they are. A good example is that SNL skit with the two girls who are fighting about whose more "goth" than the other.

But Malice Mizer is better
