Post by jjamriska » Fri Nov 05, 2004 3:15 am

i want to know how to do both splitscreened footage and how to reverse a clip. i have premire 6.5 and movie maker 1, as well as the amv app, vdub, showbiz, and photoshop. what im trying to do is split the screen in half vertically and have the same clip on both sides, one going forward, one in reverse. i plan to squish the clips if needed. help?

http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=42069 use my guide! its not too informative, but i'll fill in what i missed in the guide..see the Advance section (although its not quite as advanced as you would want its getting there)but heres what you need.. one side white one side black, each color will represent where you want the video... so black on the left, white on the right, or visaversa.. either way, just overlay that in premiere, use trackmatting, and it should work.. reversing footage would be simple, im guessing you want to make it play backwards, not mirror, so right click, choose speed, and type -100 for the %, that makes it -100 speed....
*there are many ways to do both, but these are just 2 of the easiest..*

sorry to post twice, but i noticed this http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=42045 a few lines down, it may help...

if you dont want to trackmatte, you could always use the motion tool in premiere to smush the video how you want it, although results vary..

it works if you have your settings right.

Blame yourself before you blame a tried and tested and true method.

Or don't complain if you're too lazy to put in the effort to get it right.

Your choice.

I didn't read Add's links, but:

Split screen with same clip reflecting: "Mirror" effect in Premiere.
Reverse a clip: Right click clip on timeline, click "speed" set the number to a negative.

Example, if you want a normal speed clip reversed, it's -100.

The end. ;)
