FUNimation's plans for 2005

Post by angelx03 » Fri Dec 31, 2004 12:16 pm

Source: Prime Animation Report
January: The Fullmetal Alchemist PS2 game from Square Enix hits on January 18
February: The Fullmetal Alchemist volume 1 DVD “The Curse,” is available on February 8
March: March is unofficially Dragon Ball Z action figure month, with DBZ action figures hitting from JAKKS and Bandai. From JAKKS, you will also see the seventh series in the DBZ Striking Z Fighters line and the all-new DBZ 10th Anniversary Action Figures.
April: April is a big DBZ month. We have the DBZ movie “Broly: Second Coming” hitting on April 5 and the “DBZ: Ultimate Uncut Special Editions” releasing on April 12
May: Burst Angel and Gunslinger Girl are two great series that street in May.
June: Baki the Grappler and Kodocha are titles that make June an especially promising month.
All right! My end of the school year starts up with the release of Gunslinger Girl. I really hope FUNimation got the rights to keep the original opening song by the Delgados.

Out of curiousity, when was the last time there's been an anime where they didn't keep the original OP/EDs?

Gah! I should have been more clear. I was referring to the the fact that FUNimation likes to translate and dub the opening and ending songs. The only exceptions they didn't dub the songs is Fullmetal Alchemist and (I believe) Spiral.

Thank god they are keeping the opening song to Gunslinger Girl the same. Trying to replace the awesome song from the awesome band would be a damn shame.

I seriously hope they keep the opening to Bakuretsu Tenshi too since it was one of the definite highlights of the show.
