Only downside is it kinda sucks a little. Go with Kimagure Orange Road instead, maybe your emo-kid friend will ironically appreciate the classic 80s style.
You know, I have to say...I enjoyed Kikaider. The movie that came after the series, not so much, because I liked the way the series ended (plus, the color palatte in the movie was too bright). And I think I should give the people who made it credit...with the whole "robot Pinochio" thing, they could've made it a very fluffy story...but they didn't, so it's cool.

Anyhow, I wanted to say that Jiro is much more of a mod. He's rockin' the whole "denim tuxedo" thing, with the old-school goggles. Only problem is he rides a motorcycle instead of a Vespa, and he's missing the scarf...an essential mod acessory. But still, if he turned up at a show where some "minimalist" band was playing, he'd fit right in.
It was inevitable: the scent of bitter almonds always reminded him of the fate of unrequited love.

surprized i havent seen the story of rock n roll + adolescence + rejection + falling for the girl that wants to kill you + every other thing...FLCL!

FLCL is an amazing anime, the only reasons why many dont like it are its only a 6 episode series, and because the first time you watch it you think its kinda like random+no sytorylind but funny, then the next 2,3 or 4 ...10 times you watch the 6 episode series you will see how deep the storyline beneath is and your head will go *pop* because you dont know how they crammed that much storyline into it with 6 episodes

I cant think of the title but its about an pop singer in japan named mimarin leaving her band for a career in acting, sometimes having to act out some dirty scenes, then she goes mentaly insane from regret and its a complete psycological thriller that will definately shock you at the end...ok i think the title is Perfect Blue

but as mentioned earlier haibane renmai is pretty good though i have only seen the first 4 eps, Trigun is very good especially the end, wolfs rain...never understood it cuz i didnt watch it from the start...but i hear its good, evangelion is good [great pic badmartialarts], and yeah kikadar had a good storyline but i feel it was pretty bad in my opinion and could have been drawn+acted+scripted better, to me it was just the boring spot of adult swim

just say you don't like it. besides, what does DBZ have to do with emo? That's a rhetorical question. Please don't actually answer it.
