One question that I didn't see answered: will source be provided, or do we have to agree upon a source? video style

Since I'm already posing pretty strict requirements in the choice of music any anime source you have is fair game. So long as it's anime or an anime style game (FF, etc) (basically, if the org will allow it per the "is it anime" rules) it's fine. You can pre-prepare your footage (ripping, avs scripts, etc) prior to your 3 hours as well.
I'll get the official, final rules up either tonight or tomorrow when I'm back at school.

Alrighty, sort of an administrative post here
First order of business, I just want to make sure I have everyone's times correct. If I don't, please let me know ASAP, but this is what I have as of last I checked.

Alright, now the revised rules. Basically everything is the same, I'm pretty much just copying these from the first post, but please review them as a few things may have changed.
Rules
- All songs will be chosen by myself, Greenjinjo. Songs will be right near 1 minute in length.
- Songs will be available in MP3 or WAV format. This is for your personal choice only, your choice will not affect your results (i.e. Audio Quality, so long as you didn't butcher anything, will not affect your score), but it shouldn't matter, because....
- You may not alter the audio except for volume/normalization.
- You will be given approximately 10 minutes to download and listen to your song before the 3 hour timer starts. Songs will either be available on my (faster) server, or can be gotten from me through AIM.
- We're looking for quality, not quantity. However, the final video should be at least 45 - 60 seconds in length.
- Editors will have a total of 3 hours to start, finish, and compress their videos. Any anime source may be used (though no subs and no hentai would be preferable), and prior preparation of source materials (ripping, avs files, filters, etc) is allowed.
- All interested editors must have AOL Instant Messenger, as this will be the primary means of communication during the Iron Chef.
- Please be online at least 5 minutes before your time slot begins. I don't want to have to hunt you down
- I will also be on Skype during the contest. You do not need this, but it's a pretty cool internet-phone program.
- Both editors and either myself or another appointed judge must all be online (AIM) during the three hour time block chosen for the Iron Chef.
- Warnings will be given by the judge to the participants at 1 Hour Remaining, 30 Minutes Remaining, and 15 Minutes Remaining.
- At the end of the three hour time block, editing must stop, and the contestants will send their compressed video file to the judge. Compression is allotted into the three hour block, no extra time will be given for compression, and the video must be reasonable compressed (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, DivX, or XviD).
- No arguing about the song They really aren't as terrible as I've been making it out to be. They are all fairly odd and to the best of my knowledge have not been done before, though they are certainly able to be edited to.
- The judge's decision on a winner is final.
- Have fun!
Right, that should be it. Please feel free to IM me (greenjinjo) or post here if you have any questions, if not, then good luck to everyone!

Round 1 is done, and here are the results. I first off want to say thanks to everyone for participating, and every round was really tough for the judges to decide, but here we go.
Group 1 >> Space Monkeys (Fight Club Soundtrack)
themaan
Group 2 >> Cha Cha Slide (Mr. C)
Lil Yakka
Group 3 >> Class Cracktro #15 (Maktone)
Toji Fujawara
Group 4 >> Take a Letter, Maria (R.B. Greaves)
nokedimyo
All of the results were very close, and everyone made excellent videos.
For those of you that won, your next round is this week. Because I was a bit late on the announcement of the winners, you can have through next weekend to hold your contest, though if you can have it during the week that'd be better.
I'll get the chart up soon, but nokedimyo and themaan are competing together and Lil Yakka and Toji Fujawara are competing.

I guess random gore, blood and disembodiment doesn't go over so well with some people, lol
Good job, and good luck to the winners
