There is no "better" between them, really. They are both very good, almost equal on many points.

Most of Cowboy Bebop was very good.

I'd say Ballad of Fallen Angels however I like the Jupiter Jazz Part 1 and 2 episodes, Toys in the Attic, Cowboy Funk, and Hard Luck Woman alot better.

Spike was always the comic relief guy, too. I especially like the commonly AMVed part in CB when all the guys are getting out of the car and he's on the roof, kicking them and they get out. Pure gold. Anyway, Spike's death still riuned the attitude of the show (for me at least). Still one of the greatest animes ever.
While I definately agree with you on the fact that CB's style of humor is unique and uplifting not to mention entertaining, but that certainly isn't the focus of the series. There are obviously some episodes which are meant to brighten the mood, for example the one where that strange critter gets out of the fridge, but that aside, there is too much underlying conflict between the characters. CB is a mixture of drama and tragedy, and when it all boils down to it, the entire series is basically devoted to wrapping up the past for all of the characters, not comedy. Fae is always striving to learn about her past, whether openly or not. Ed is looking for a family, you could argue that point I suppose but I won't bother to defend it until someone does. Spike has to deal with the loss of a family, (Red Dragons) the loss of a best friend in Vicious, and the loss of a lover in Julia. Jet too has demons from the past, such as how he lost his arm, the loss of his wife, and the loss of a place for him as well in the ISSP. While comedy is a key part of CB, it is not the main focus of the series, and if you did not have Spike and Vicious die, that would be tantamount to throwing out the theme of the entire series which up until that point had been prolonged suffering and tragedy.

Here areThe Rules, you aren't braking any (as far as I can tell), but read them anyway, they're good.

And please, do not necropost, or make stupid, pointless, off topic posts. Especially not all together! It is greatly frowned upon.

RFB Part 2 was on Cartoon Network tonight - man I love that episode...

I really think Bebop's dub is better than its sub...and I am a lip-sync fanatic.
On the seventh day, God rested...and watched anime. And it was good.

Does anyone notice that none of Spike's vital organs were hit and yet he died? Hmm.... :?

I guess Max Payne isn't much of a yaoi fan...

I put the answer in "Funny Anime Questions". And, yes, I really think that's the reason why.

I actuly found the first episode "astroid blues" to be really good, it's what got me hooked, and made me spend months getting the dvds (ya, I can some times have a hard time getting spare change...and if your woundering, some one showed me the first ep to try and get me hooked...it worked)
