Lol, I just watched the first ep of Video Girl Ai this morning, and I would have to agree. Suu from Love Hina is also kind of crazy, though she's not a female lead. Also, Mizuki from Comic Party and Tina from Ai yori aoshi. Mine aren't too over-the-top, but most of the best have already been said.
