I'm trying to find a program that can rip DVDs but I don't know what I should use.

What should I download?

DVD Decriptor, it's part of the AMV Kit you can find in the guides section of the .org

Is it still on your computer?

There are not a lot of settings so it's hard to goof that simple VOB ripper up. So we will look eslewhere...

Do you have a DVD rom player on your machine (needs to have DVD on the front cd bay)

Update your drivers (if you have the DVD player). Get the DVD drivers from the manufacturer, and sometimes windows updater will go out and grab them for you.

And sometimes (for some reason) you will need to have something that naturally plays DVD's (Like windows media player *Free*). I had an old old dvd ripper utility a while back that piggie backed off of windows Media Player 8.0. So that could also be an issue (though I don't think so). If not, go to the guides section of the org and they have write ups on how to use it with full illustrations that can do a much better job than I at making the programs do their thing.

I guess you've answered your own question there then... You'll need one before you can rip a dvd to your hard drive...
