Actors trying to be singers/Singers trying to be actors, etc
Some actors are good at singing, and some aren't. Some singers are good at acting, and some aren't.
Actors who are good singers:
Don Johnson (I'm sorry, but I love Heartbeat)
Jennifer Love Hewitt (even though I haven't heard enough of her material, and I think I've only heard one song of hers in its entirety)
Eric Stuart
Jack Wagner
Cam Clarke
Actors who are terrible singers:
Bruce Willis
Eddie Murphy (stick to your stand-up shows, man)
Singers who are good actors:
Henry Rollins
Um, I can't think of anyone else at the moment for all four categories.

Eminem made that 8 mile movie
Jessica Simpson
I dont know what Kevin Bacon sounds like but the rest are here and there for talent. I havent seen Em or 50s movies so I dont know if theyre terrible...
CHER!! Oh my god I almost forgot Cher *shudders*
Olivia Newton John... getting really old here..
Madonna
Elvis if we wanna go way back
I would like to point out how very sad I am because I compiled this list in about 5 mins. So Im stopping.

No words in the english language can acuratly describe the atrocity to the ears that is acor singing. This is no slight agaist actors who can actually sing but stick souly to acting. Every one pink_hedgehog's list is guilty of something to the level of warcrimes and should be dealth with swiftly and accordingly.

I can't believe that nobody's yet mentioned the abominations of Star Trek cast singing. William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy have on various occasions been the very definition of godawful and should have both been long since banned from recording anything except dialogue. Less bad are Russell Crowe's and Keanu Reeves' bands, but neither would be signed if they didn't include famous people.
On the good side, Johnny Depp has a band that is somewhat decent, but does not tour or release hyped records because he recognizes that he is an actor first. Going the other way, LL Cool J has done some decent roles, and that guy Frank Sinatra did a good job in the original Manchurian Candidate.

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.

Lol, beat me to the punch there mate. William Shatner's music is truely awful but I've never heard any of Leonard Nimoy's stuff but I can imagine it being very bad.Kai Stromler wrote:William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy have on various occasions been the very definition of godawful and should have both been long since banned from recording anything except dialogue.
However, you say Jonny Depp's band is ok? I knew he plays guitar but I didn't know he's in a band what kind of style is the band?
I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.

I forgot about Shatner and Nimoy. I don't recall ever hearing any of Shatner's songs, but I have Nimoy's "Highly Illogical" on this 2-disc Dr. Demento compilation from 1995, and I actually use to like it back in 1999, and it actually got me obsessed with him for a while during that year, but not too long, thankfully.

Is everyone forgetting that Anthony Kiedis and Flea (From the Red Hot Chili Peppers) have also appeared in movies. Both were present in The Chase (also staring Henry Rollins, and Flea also appeared in The Big Lebowski.
