This is precisely the reason why International Copyright Laws exist and why Hong Kong needs to get hit by a tidal wave sometime... there's one thing to be said about downloading videos off the internet, but comletely and blatantly STEALING the idea, characters, and events and making them your own... THAT'S where I draw the line! (Writer, here  )

As for the Live action movie. I think there's a thread about the live action movie discussion. But as a short description.

Fox has the rights to make it and they plan on making it a live action movie although there is future release date. As well there are rumors running about that is has been cancelled. Either way the possibility of it ever happening isn't the greatest chance but still it's possible. I'd say wait a few years and it will pop up.

Here are some supposed pictures of it. The first is the movie poster and the second is of course Piccolo.

That poster was a hoax. Especially being that the poster first appeared around more than 2 years ago and there hasn't been any official announcment or greenlighting for a DragonballZ yet dispite constant rumors that Fox is gonna do one.

Honestly I think even the idea of a live action film is pretty horrid, especially with a horrid source material such as DBZ. I mean on it's pallet as an anime, it's managed to survive on fight scenes alone (and don't try to tell me there's actual substance in the show worth taking seriously, I have watched it all), but on a large or even medium budget live action film, it'd just look like ass. Besides there's already one live action film of Dragonball made long ago, and that was pretty aweful.

That was the whole point Jebadia. This rumor has been going on for years and nothing has come out about the developement behind the movie. It probably wont ever happen unless they find a way to do great digital animation.

The DB and DBZ plot line is simple and rather shallow. There are no real underlying themes. They do manage to keep it together but the fight scenes are way to long, the idea behind finding the dragonballs are thrown on the back burner after the frieza saga. The series should of ended with Vegeta kill Fat Buu. That would have been the ultimate ending for the show. Actually it seems like they had intended it that way. You can tell a distinct difference in the animation from that episode to the next.

All in all DBZ is great for those starting on anime but nothing to revered as a master peice. There are so many more good ones out there this one just had a bigger impact on the american continent.

Oh I forgot. That live action movie was made back in the 80's. Back then the animation wasn't quite up to par with the movies of today.

Understatement of the month.

Personally, I wish DBZ had never, ever, been brought to America. Course, this is me speaking as a veteran roleplayer. There's just so many kids these days who've basically only seen Akira and DBZ and think they know everything about anime. :?

There's so many to see and to partake in. If your goonna start off DBZ will suffice but don't stop there. I will say I enjoyed DBZ but it wasn't exactly deep.
