Alright guys, I shall make this as simple as I can:

I've been tasked with putting together the official video description for the project. Obviously, it's not going anywhere without input from all of you. Because I don't want to speak on behalf of everyone without asking first, of course.

So:
Ideas? Suggestions?
What would you like to see in the project's video description? In terms of your own work? And in general terms?

Don't make me bug all of you (excluding Jasper, she gets enough as it is) on AIM about this...

there's general project info - the idea of an instrumental project, the history of the project

um, tracklist

credits to special roles - rose for creating the project and a lot of the ideas, jasper for finishing directing the project and some artwork, kalium, pen-pen, and ooshna for helping hosting, song and oto for narrations, bakadeshi for some artwork and dvds, and i forgot what else

then specific comments about the project. it might work better if we group everybody's personal comments into one block of text rather than separate them by editor as was done in the Children's Project.

Yeah, we don't need to put specific comments for each segment in the video description because that's what the monologues are for. Instead, it would be nice to gather and combine everybody's thoughts about the project as a whole.

...so I recorded the commentary take today. Anytime you want - I have the .wav for your approval or rejection, in which case I'll re-take.

Ok, I'm getting a general idea for the description here. And what about the individual comments, even if they're grouped? I assume you all might have something specific for that to note... any specifics?

I'll try to work out the more general and technical sections this week.

My god, you people have been working on this since long before I joined, and you're STILL not done. Let's hope the video rules. I'll definitely get it when it comes out.

maybe it'll be done before I reach my two years on the org.

It's the delays' fault. Technically, though the workload is still high, it's really a project with a real time-to-complete of about half a year, not two years. Unfortunately, the delays and administrative difficulties got us.

As for the final product... I'm somehow sure that, well... It'll be something unique. But my personal vision of it is the AMV equivalent of an album on a good old 2-sided LP. An album made by a rather diverse-sounding band.
Naturally enough, as with any diverse-sounding album, chances are, there's tracks you'll like, tracks you'll not like, and tracks that you'll just blink at and wonder WTF they're all about and what they're doing where they are.

To me, it's safe to say that if it lives up to that in most people's perceptions, I'll be one satisfied project-member. :)

Alright... I have a sample monologue ready. It shows how I plan to handle all the fullscreen naratives, and how it'll fade into the next video. It still has minor glitches, but I want input on what you like and if I should change anything. (and it takes freaking 2 hours to export every time I change anything) This one is for Jasper's fullscreen entry.

http://www.aunstudios.com/downloads/for ... sample.avi

Should I keep the slides as fading into each other or regular cuts, or perhaps animate it like a slide show, slide one image off and slide the next on ala slide projector style. (while I think this might be interesting, it will take more time to do and may not be any more interesting than the fade method that is alot easier to do) Is mizuho good where she is, should she be somewhere else, or not there at all... whatever you can think of. I'd like to get some input before going on the rest of the naratives.

Note: Lipsynching Mizuho is tedious work. Perhaps if anyone in the project with good lipsynching skills wants to help out with that by grabbing a comentary to do, It would help me out there alot. PM me if your interested.

My main gripe about this would be that Mizuho seems to stand out a bit much - perhaps dialing down the brightness might make it look better? It seemed like the composition was a little biased towards her, but only just by a little.

(what this actually means is that I think I spent more time staring at her than I should have... de-emphasising her just a bit might help balance things out)

As for lip-synching - I think I could, although at the moment I'm uh... technically unprepared. I'll see if I can free up a bit of HD space, then get back to you. If you have any detail on what you might be looking for in terms of help - do tell.
