The characters are probably the best part about the show IMO.

But why do we get to see more of everyone elses past than Naruto?

150-something episodes and we've barely seen like 4 minutes of flashback about Naruto beling alone. Unless I just forgot an episode when they explained it.

It seems that Naruto's character isn't going through any character changes either, it's really starting to get repeditive.

From the manga stand point, It's A LOT better than the anime. I can feel the difference of the Naruto in the Manga and the Naruto in the Anime. However even the manga is beginning to get repeditive.

I think things started to turn sour after the Forest of death arc. As in the final stage of the chuunin exams is something I would consider 'lame'. It seemed to just go downhill from there and is showing no sign of coming back.

Personally, I would just stick with the first arc... it's just so much better. However... that is just me.
Why do people complain about things? Why can't they just be happy that they were made for them?
I respect everyone's right to not like something, but complaining about it will acomplish nothing...

Anyway, I also heard on the second season or something, the manga-ka gets REALLY screwed up and does things that actually contradicts characters and their abilities. Like Rock Lee (or whoever) who can't use the ninja moves, suddenly can. oO;
If your so easily to give up on a series after a few episodes, I agree with fully that you should quit the series.. never found Narutos voice annoying at all really, and it does sound better and gets more interesting later on(don't know if it'll happen with the english) but hey, I will tell you first 20 eps is waay different from the next 15 after that, then just goes in another very interesting direction.

Give up while your ahead I guess(what a total of 5 episodes you've seen right :lol: ) and stick with the manga because that ONE voice you heard is soo annoying it's just best to stay as far away from it as possible.. if a friend is watching the japanese version in the room your in, go out and have a smoke from the frustration of JUST hearing that damn voice witch is one of the most annoying things to hear in a series that is magically popular amongst college students.. I just don't know how they can deal with watching it with that damn voice of Narutos.. I dunno.. maybe it's the story or something.. whatever it is they MUST be crazy or something. :roll:

Wait, didn't they kill of garra? I really have to read more of the manga to keep all of this straight in my head o.o;;

Naruto

I dont think its a comedy...its more emotional. Im a die hard Sasuke fan, and he has alot of Drama involved, so I'd count Naruto as Action/Drama/Romance in some ways...the story has alot of little extras in it, and includes alot of decent stuff e.g. Ninja moves. But the story is very appealing, even though I dont really like Naruto. I dont hate him, but im not to fond of him being the main hero. I think Sasuke should be, not just becuse im a fan; he wants revenge for his tribe being killed, and Naruto wants to become a Hokage.

I usually hear the other way around, that it gets better and more interesting after the first season. And if that were true, I wonder why it's so popular. Also like how you generalize that.. lol, you seem very arrogant. :P
