Fist of the North Star - How can you go wrong with X-ray shots of peoples guts, bones and assorted body parts exploding inside of them
Vampire Hunter D - The original may not look as clean as the remake but that scene when D starts storming the castle ranks right up there
Elfen Lied - I laugh every time I see that seen where Lucy start pulling Nana arms and legs off like a little kid torturing a fly
God there are so many others from my childhood I can't even remember
I think M.D.Giest was good and gory

You SERIOUSLY need to rewatch AKIRA if you think there isn't much blood in it... it has some of the worst scenes ever...

First VHD, yeah...I don't know of anywhere else you'll see an innocent creature ripped into several pieces with enough detail to make it an anatomy lesson. Violence against animals is just wrong, though.

Hellsing is certainly bloody and violent, and it's a great place to find a decapitated head, but it's not so much disturbing as ... redly moist.

I don't know if we want to go there, but some hentai also reaches disturbing pinnacles of graphic gore. Don't ask me what they are, because I assure you, I don't know.

It's also known as Evil Dragon War Chronicles (the name that the video's under), and I got my copy through the MIT anime club. This was a EP VHS tape that had raw versions of the three eps of this OVA, the first two of Kujaku-oh, and Demon City Shinjuku, all copied from laserdisc. I'm probably going to be back in the US after the first of the year; drop me a PM then if you're still interested and I'll copy you the tape.

I should probably put a "will trade/distro weird stuff on VHS" list online & in my sig....there's a lot of uncommon anime in my collection that people not in the Boston area might want.
