Are you proud of your own works?
I think that this one can be an interesting question to make to a group of creators like us.
I was thinking in these days to ask.. Are you proud of yourselfs? When you create a video, you feel proud of your work or you're extremly auto-critic and usually never think that your video is good until twenty people confirm it?
It's not a stupid question if you think about it, in my case, I have to say that little by little I changed my point of view, but now I find myself being proud when I make a video, when I finish a video I'm really proud of it, besides what other people think about it, I'll always have my personal "opinion" of it, usually, if when I'm working on a video I don't feel satisfied, I delete it.
When I make a clip, I'm able to change it tons of times, editing a single clip for days, until I'll be free to say "Ok, this one is finished now I can continue!", maybe I've this particular way of thinking (that probably many of you have!) because creating amv is not only an "Hobby" to spend time, since my "Dream" is to take a way of my life that follow this path.
What's your relationship with all this? I'd like a lot to see what you have to say.

well when ever im done with an amv I feel that I have improved even if its just a tiny bit and that makes me feel good, when I finish an amv im proud of it like my latest video, I was very happy I made it an was proud of it before I got ops on it. the more better amvs that I make I start to lose the "proudness" in my old ones like right now im not proud at all with my wmv videos XD but thats kind of expected. I drop allot of video as soon as I lose my intrest because if I finish it with out satisfaction im not very proud of it knowing I didnt try.

I'm proud of them while I'm editing (Why would you do it otherwise?) After I'm done I get a little critical. Then by the time I start a new project I'm proud of them again in a nostalgic, "it's good for what it is but it's going to be nothing compared to my next video" sort of way.
Just wait till I finally finish my next video, I'll have something to be really proud of...

Rarely proud, always too critical to enjoy it. It's hard to stay interested in something that I've been staring at for countless hours and know which parts worked and which didn't. Some ideas just get too complex to finsh up properly, so I end up quiting while I still have a few strands of hair left.
I keep making them though in hopes that I'll one day get a series and song to match up perfectly. Then maybe I'll "dance the good time dance."

My feelings on that matter are mixed.
From one side, I am proud cause I see all the editing I putted in it and I can see the effect. I think almost every editor is a bit proud of their works, and that is what often cause terrible editors to argue, that their awful vids are great.
But from the other hand , when I look back on my past works I can see the things that could be done better, or agree with some mistakes pointed out by opinioners - and that degrades my pride a little ;]

When I start a video, I think, "This is gonna be so cool."
When I'm working on the video, I think, "This is tedious, but it'll be worth it."
When I finish a video, I think, "This is actually pretty good! Go me~!"
After I've uploaded and announced the video, I think, "People will definitely watch and like this one."
After twenty people say, "Eh, it was okay," or, "That sucked," I think, "Well, I guess that was to be expected."
After one person tries to cheer me up with some good comments, I think, "Well, I suck, but at least someone cares."
Rinse and repeat.
