I didn't really enjoy Advent Children...
First, I can't bear Cloud and Tifa, and the movie is on these two characters, even if Vincent has a good role.
Where are Cid ? Youfie ? Nanaki ? Cait Sith ? Barret ?
We see them two seconds for each one. Some of them can say a little sentence before setting off again.
And the story... I confess I didn't understand it. Rufus is still alive ? He wasn't dead in the top of Shinra Tower, against Diamond Weapon ?
And Tseng ? Sephiroth didn't kill him ?
Also there are good theorys about the story, I'm not convinced.
However, this movie is amazing : specials effects, wonderful musics... Thanks Black Mages.
The show is guaranteed.

Of course you can disagree and say it's "overrated", but "overrated", in reality, is nothing more than a term people use for something that's very popular and liked by many that they don't happen to fancy in an attempt to make it sound like it's less than it is.

Seriously. You think I don't know that? I know their in the business of making money, otherwise they wouldn't have so many bloody FFVII spin-offs or tie in's to the video game. Duh. But that doesn't change the fact that, all the other games deserve some sort of recognition and seriously need to be made over. The first six do anyhow. I know it'll probably be never that any of those games will be remade, but its my opinion and I figured I might as well drop it on the lot of youse. I'm not a businessman, so when I see something that just a little too advertised and there so many others of its kind that need to be brought to forefront then I'll say just that. And if I wanna call something overrated then I'll call it overrated. Its not because that I want it to seem less than it is, just that its not all that is cracked up to be. Seriously; Why is it that everytime I venture into this place, leave an opinion that is sure graze hairs, someone is trying to shoot me down with a quote like yours up above?

Well, that's your opinion ---I'll respect that--- and obviously, its not universal. There are better RPG's out there besides FFVII. Just like there are better books than Harry Potter. Both are just the more widely know and highly advertised.

That's all I'll say about that because I am not the mood to tumble verbally with the likes of anyone.

Yes, one of my dislikes about the movie was the incontinuity. Rufus died. WE saw him die in a big CG glory! He was nuked by Diamond with the rest of Shin-Ra tower.
And Tseng died too. Not only once, but he's double dead. Sephiroth gave him the poke of doom with the Masamune in the Temple of the Ancients, but also the Temple shrank to the size of a bowling ball. Tseng was stabbed and crushed.
BUT the Turks are also dead! You killed them on your return to Midgar. They didn't run away or bow, they turned red, meaning there dead, and they were no more once the fight was over.

IMO, Advent Children was nice the first time around, but after that, well, continuity, the laws of physics, and a decent version of One Winged Angel all went out the window. IMO

Actually, Rufus blew himself up by overloading the Mako Canon. And the fight with the Turks in Midgar was optional. You were given the option (as a Turk) to leave Cloud's party alone, or fight them. If you leave them alone, the Turks walk away with a comment saying something along the lines that their job isn't necessary no more since Shinra is done, and the end of the world is coming.

I think you are right about Tseng though. I really don't remember for sure, but I think I remember Sephiroth stabbing Tseng in the temple. But then again, they live in a world where Pheonix Downs does wonders for the wounded. j/k

i am soo happy i reserved my copy of advent children when i went to pick my copy up there were only reserved copies of the movie left oh and it has a japanese version! awesome!
