ppl, newbie here needs help, thx! ^^

Post by Cascabel84 » Sat May 20, 2006 8:07 am

Ok... so... Im kinda a newbie here and Im making my very own and first music video... Its not really an amv as its based on movie screenshots... but bah... close anyways. I made it in windows movie maker (as any newbie to be respected :P) and its a wmv...

So... my problem is that it has a low video quality and dont really know why... The movie I uploaded into the movie maker has a good quality, and I even saved my project, after editing it, with the highest quality possible. And I cant manage to, or I dont know how to fix that. is there a way and I dont know it?

Uhmm.. thx for taking the time to read it  Happy amv making, ppl! :D

Hey there and welcome to the AMV community.
So you a newbie, heh?
Well it is natural for a beginner to use Windows Movie Maker. You have to start somewhere!? Even I started with Movie Maker. And only did slideshow of anime picture I had. Later I got the use of it made some good AMVs. Well Movie Maker is a video editing program for beginner and almost everything has been preset for easy use. And that is the problem when you make the video file of your AMV. Even when you set the output to DV film (AVI), which make the file about 1.5GB if I can remember fom the past. Movie Maker sets what it thinks is the best compression setting. I don't like Movie Maker. I had a lot of problem making my videos with it. The program used to freeze or I can't make an output file, plus Movie Maker is a linear editing program, which can be very annoying and restricting. I have seen very high quality WMV files out there, but to get such quality can't be possible with Movie Maker. I use Adobe Premiere and After Effects for making my AMVs, but these programs might be too much for a beginner. If you want to understand how make Good AMVs then I would recommend that you read the guides in the How-To Guides section. I hope I have been of any help to you and good luck with video editing.
