Canadian Anime conventions

Post by The HentaiMaster » Fri Jun 16, 2006 8:49 pm

Well it rather feels good coming back here after 4 years. Things change people do as well but in the end nothing has really changed.

First time I actually post something out side the general anime and the very missed "off topic" forum "shakes fist at phade"

What brings me here after such a long brake is the enlightement I subject to when I went to my first anime convention. It's hard to explain but seeing so many people feeling almost the same way you do about anime and loving it to such, I was astonished and I must say that it revived the longley forgotten anime hunger and passion. After being revived an vivified I decided to go on a long quest for finding anime conventions, it was quite a short one, because i was able to find all the anime conventions in North America, most of them. Now, the closest one to Montreal, where i live, is going to be on 23-25 of June in Ottawa. http://www.c-ace.org/
The one that brought the love back was actually Otakuthon held in Concordia university the 10-11 of June. It was awesome and very fun.....but ill blame the bloody Mexicans for making such good nachos making me skip the funnest parts -_- <------ regrets it deeply -.-

The one i just linked is a big one, at least it seems so, what I was actually wondering if any of you guys are going. The reason I ask this is because i became so hyped about it I am planning a 3 day trip that way ill get away from all Mexican temptation so i can dedicate my whole week end to this anime convention. If any of you plan on going please pm me I will be going with at least 1 good friend of mine and maybe 2 more, heheh joy ride ftw!!!!

If you are interested contact me because it's always fun to get a bunch of people together and just start jamin over there !!!

As far as other conventions i have so many coming up I can’t even keep >_< and as always more coming up!!!!

ps: Any questions comments post here i shall look some more for expenses and so on but pls don’t be shy and ask !

Ciao for now ladies and gentlemen

You realise that it's not (just) an anime con like Otakuthon was, right?
Admittedly, I haven't been there, but from the FAQ:

"1: What is the purpose of the convention? The Canadian Arts and Cartooning Expo is a multi-genre convention focused on creativity, with an emphasis on learning. ...
2: What does Multi-genre mean? C-ACE accepts artists and writers from any section of fandom, be it Comics, SF, Fantasy, Anime, Anthropomorphics, or others."

In fact, some have thought that it's a furry con due to the number of attendees that are interested in Anthro. (See Events FAQ 4)

I'm not saying don't go, but don't expect everyone there to be an anime fan, for one thing.
It's a while from now, but check out AC Cubed in November.

Bloody hell!!!

As a matter of fact i know of ac cubed from friends but, i am , in a way in immediate need of an anime convention rofl. For some odd reason i am expecting this one to be quite good knowing that it's 3 days and from some of the stuff i herd from some people.

Thank you for pointing those things out ! Ill take the time to consider and see what il end up doing.
