well if you want to go in that direction then i never thought i could sucessfully pull off my butterfly video... IMO its currently my best work so far... but its romance, and closer to i guess "my style"
infact i would say that Cat and Mouse "marked" where I made a bit of a turn into the more dramatic... as I made it BEFORE World of Elegance, (though it premeired 5 months after WOE, it was still made first)
either way like I said, I dont really have a "style" per se... just a type of video people are used to seeing from me.
and due to vids like Pocket Change (I donno where you get that "V2" from) its usually Sentimental or comedy

But actually what I was thinking was like... what if Shinodude like, just came up with Euphoria or a similar effectsy directorial masterpeice and like returned to Shinodude (no offense to Shino, afaik he idolizes Koop so I'd think he'd take it as a compliment, I chose those words carefully), an un effectsy creator. His Euphoria/ Whisper of the Beast type video would than be his most creative, maybe not his most popular (say a bunch of fanboys don't want to recognize it cuz it copys their favorite video) but his most creative. Something he himself might say he'll never reach again.
I'm thinking ya'll are missin the point slightly here... but close! very close! Bout as close as AMV Hell is to funny (imo it's not supposed to be funny, it's supposed to be hell...). Otohiko may realize what I'm trying to say here.
I'm not talking about something you went and got drunk and did, cuz no matter what that usually is part of your personality somehow, you can usually do that over again just by getting drunk again. I'm talking about a total change of editing style, one that you just can't do over again, one that you might receive a qc for saying 'this is you?!!' that you'll be destined to live in the shadow of for the rest of your life. Somebody tell me they see the parralel plane I live on and I'm not just going crazy here o.0

Hmm... I think I get what you're saying, at least somewhat. For example, while the editing style in How Happy You Made Me is what I expect from myself, the subject matter definitely is not. Most of my other videos have been deathly serious - the ones that have fallen outside of that I have considered failures. When I look back on that video, I feel that something so unabashedly cute just doesn't seem like something I would have edited.
Really, the more informed I get about editing, the crazier my ideas have become - and the further from my style boundaries they've wandered. There are some ideas I've had that are not only nothing like what I would have expected from myself, but I'm not sure I would ever be capable of doing them. My most inventive idea would probably put Euphoria to shame, and I can guarantee that I'd get a "WTF, that's Ultima???" from people if I ever managed to make it.
I don't think that anyone else has had that "Ultima made that?" kind of reaction about me yet (if they have, they haven't said it), but I've had it about myself. I guess it's all a matter of perspective.
