Hi! I just finished Resident Evil 4 for the PS2 and I really want to make an AMV for it, but my question is, what kind of program or software do I need to extract the movie clips? When I beat the game and went to the main menu, there was a new sub-directory for just the movie files, this is all I need to get and if someone could help me out I would REALLY appreciate it!
Love,
Karen

I don't think the movies in the movie select are rendered in real time. I know they are in the gamecube version. But not in the ps2 version. The fact that the extra costumes don't carry over to the cut scenes are kind of proof of this. I've heard people also say that the graphics during the cinematics are slightly better as well since they were supposedly taken from the gamecube version (though I don't know how true that is.)
In any case, I don't think it matters any. I don't think Nova Software extractor is capable of detecting the mpeg streams in this game. So asside from searching the games raw data yourself, your pretty much stuck with having to capture the footage. Sorry.

Actually, all of the scenes in the PS2 version of Resident Evil 4 can be ripped using Castor Troy's guide. I've done it before. Problem is, it has playback problems that I haven't figured out yet. If you can figure it out, then this is the way to go. If not, then a capture card will also work, although your video quality will suffer.
Hope that helps.
