Gosh this is hard. I'd say InuYasha, Miroku, Kagetsuya, Hawk's Eye, Riku(even though he's a video game character ), Jeadite, Bankotsu, and that's all I can think of for now.

Lina Yamizaki from Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040. The older version of Bubblegum Crisis is alright, but I like the newer animation quality. Also, Lina isn't as much of a mercenary in the new version as she is in the older.

Down to the character herself, Lina has all of those good qualities from being a "country girl": the whole honesty, doing the right thing bit. She's also one of the few female characters in the variety of anime that isn't a hypocrite, or does the whole submissive woman thing to hook a man.

Finally, while having all of the characteristics of the decisive female supporting character, Lina does not have a compromising or suggestive past. Misato from Eva or Mao from Full Metal Panic is a great example of what I mean in this respect.

Overall, Lina is the kind of chick that any warm blooded male would give their left kidney to take out for dinner and a movie, but not feel awkward around her when she wants to take the lead.
