I guess it's a matter of personal preference. I liked the latter because it looked less... polygonal?

But the script for it was really slow, and the effect didn't look that great on all scenes, so I ended up toning it down quite a bit.

What bothered me the most was the aliasing. It's really obvious on a computer monitor. :? I eventually found a deinterlacer that had a bonus effect of making the aliasing less apparent (I think it was SSTomsMoComp) - but I couldn't find a way of getting rid of it completely.
