Oh man, I loved it!!! I saw it once and on that same day, in the afternoon, I went back and watched it again just to make sure I didn't miss anything. When it comes to subs, I read the writing and move my eye around to the images...but sometimes, I miss things but I didn't miss any.
I loved all the fighting scenes. It was soo cool...I loved how they did that because that just shows FFVII: Advent Children is in it's own class.

i just keep watching that game overview because i love Uamatsu's music (sorry if i misspelled your name, god of music) especially the Sephiroth theme. It's the only full orchistra song successfully mixed with a rock band.
first day I saw it, I watched it all the way through thrice
once in english
once in japanese (with subs)
again in english (with subs)
then just the sephiroth fight five or six times
then i skimmed scenes while listening to different cd's to try to get ideas for AMV's
don't use Sober by tool.....that's mine

Eye candy. That's all it is. I could not find a valid or comprehensible story anywhere in the film. And I also felt that the Sephiroth fight at the end was completly out of place. There was no real refrences to him and he just showed up. I guess so fanatic fanboys can wack off at the sight of Cloud and Sephi duking it out in full rendered 3D.
I'm also unsure as to whether I sould be happy or sad that they reduced Tifa's pixel count, if you know what I mean.
The dub was some of the best, but Cloud seemed a little too nonchalant and emotionaless. But there is one line I try to squeeze into everyday conversation... "Dilly dally shilly shally."
Overall, a 7 out of 10.

As eye candy it was great.
As a movie it was weak. Poor storyline, poor continuation of a previous plotline as you had to have seen the previous stuff or played the game to understand it.
The character design was kind of uninspired. It looked like they just reused a bunch of Rinoa models for one of the characters. I didn't really care what happened to anybody in the movie. The battles were so physics deprived that I was stunned. (the motorcycle stuff, the hand to hand combat was mostly fine, in an over the top kind of way) Square still sucks at doing hands.
Cellphone work surprisingly well underwater. That surprised me.
Somebody, had posted a .gif of the movie that was essentially everybody chasing everybody else. I thought that one covered it perfectly. I'm sure somebody has it.

dudes no duh u had to play the game to get it it was inspireed by the game. and the sefoerth or how ever y spell it he had to be there cause he was clouds mortal enemy aand the character personalities i would say some did not go wit there character as well as other but still it was a good move wit a desent storyline. but ask your self was it entertaining if so it was a good movie cause that is wut they are made for so put that question in your head.

let me put it this way.
It's the movies job to tell me what I need to know to understand what I'm watching. When I watched Armageddon, I didn't need to study astronomy, or physics to understand what was happening. In fact, having any actual knowlege of astronomy or physics might have contradicted the facts as shown in the movie. Even Snakes on a plane set up it's situations better.
Likewise, when I watch Advent Children, I shouldn't have to play 8 damm games and watch obscure animations or read a synopsis. It's the damm movies job to explain itself. "who the hell is this guy in the red spawn cape?" is not a question that should have ever entered my mind.

it was vincent and cloud called him that. and a mive does not always have to explane itself.(yes i knwo i can't spell) casue i mean damn yeah it would help to play the game but u know all the characters and all. and snakes on a plane and arageton are not based on video games are they? did not think so. yeah it would help to play the game but u get the jist of the movei cause only the first 5min of the movie acualy go along wit the game so playing the one game would not of helped much only to know the characters. and it is funny this is the sequl to final fantsy spirt within but they had nothing in commen and the avatar i have is vinvent and he is sweet
