Adobe Premiere 6.0

Post by Mishu31 » Tue Aug 29, 2006 2:44 pm

I don't want you to think I'm an idiot , but something's wrong with my Adobe Premiere ! OK, so I open it , I import , I put the video on the timeline , put effects ....and then , when I click preview timeline , the effects don't show in the monitor ! And , while we're at it , how do I split the timeline into small videos ??

I hope someone will be kind enough to help me ! Thanks a lot !

u probably didnt render your work

either render your video or press alt + scrub the timeline to see the effect

also in premiere 6.0 there is different preview options, like preview from screen or disk

ones of those shud let u see them, (sorry cant be more specific for preview options cuz i got 6.5)

*starts broken record*
what codec did you use to encoded your clips/episodes?
if it is divx or xvid, these are bad for editing
you need to re-encode your clips (you don't want to encode entire episodes) with a lossless codec such as lagartih or huffyuv

it's not a codec problem...

Why this codec? I re-encode those in DiVX 4.5 if I remeber correctly and they were played right.

yea... dont use divx... but your actual problem is that premiere 6.5 and lower don't display/render in real time... so you have to render it out or export it before you can see any fades or effects.

Or hold Alt while scrubbing the timeline, that works too.
