Premiere Pro Export Problems

Alright, alright, yet again I find myself returning to the AMV field after a long hiatus. Allow me to apologize in advance for this topic, but the solutions suggested (or not suggested?) in the AMV technical guides as well as an attempt in searching for previous topics on the matter failed for me. The fact that I'm now working with Premiere Pro (where I've used 6.0 in the past) only further hampers the use of solutions I've had in the past with this very problem. So, here it goes:

My attempts at exporting my latest AMV project from Premiere Pro have been getting the typical 'garbage data' outlined in AbsoluteDestiny's tech guide. That is, the video comes out usually in a rainbow of colors when I use the Huffyuv compressor. I've been re-exporting dozens of times, switching between several options including the "Always suggest RGB format for output," "Enable RGBA (RGB with Alpha) compression)," as well as other checkboxes.



What is particularly more troublesome is that some of the different exporting tests I conducted had video which, at one point, would be perfectly clear of the rainbow effect, other points would introduce the effect within the same clip being used . Furthermore, the clips I've been using were all created from Virtualdub in a uniform manner, with the Huffyuv compressor.

There's quite a bit more to the matter, but I would like to see if any of the solutions people suggest here work before I complicate the situation more. I thank anyone in advance should you help.

Tried. The video still ends up with the rainbow effect, and I think even upside down if I look closely enough.

Tried to take screenshots of my video directly, but strangely enough, the shot appears black on my computer. *shrug*

optimize stills can do funny things, try uchecking that.
other than that I don't have any ideas

in your prject settings you have pixel aspect ratio set to 0.9

in export settings you have it set to 1.0 (sqaure pixel)

maybe that inconsistency could be your problem.

What probably messes up your AMVs is the lower field first setting in the project. It is wrong for AMV making in every case, no matter if you did deinterlace - than it has to be progressive - or work with interlaced footage - than it has to be upper field first. Don't use the NTSC-DV preset, make a custom project with correct settings.

I realized that may have been the problem shortly after I put up those screenshots. ^_^ ' Is there any way I can change those settings mid-project? In other words, can I avoid having to start from scratch with the Premiere project itself?

you have to start a new progect to fix the settings but you can easily import your current project into the new one and everything should be the same.
