Make something really good perhaps?Ishimaru0 wrote:I hope this thread is not dead...
Damn I feel if I enter the contest again this year that I won't make it in.
Compared to 200-400 AMVs what are the chances?
How do first-timers make it in with a few other hundred videos that didn't?
I need some advice here...

There's no guarantee to any editor that thier vid will get in, but even if youre a vet or making your first vid it's the quality that counts. The best concepts, smoothest editing, and originality usually are the vids that stand out.Ishimaru0 wrote:I hope this thread is not dead...

As for that last minute stress...I'll be avoiding that luckily since my AX submission will be the vid I've been working on for Acen and the deadlines are a week or so apart.

Took me five years to make the finals.
Oh and as for tickets. Yes it's a pain to get them from the AMV coordinator when you get to the convention. And you only get a ticket if you submit a video to the contest that wasn't disqualified. Basically they want to weed out anyone who is sending in crap just for tickets.

Actually, main events at AX2002 and 2003 was in the orchestra hall. That hall is being used for film screenings and premieres this year and the hockey stadium will be main events. I'm working main events as a lackey staffer this year and if I get any info that I have permission to discuss, I'll share it. I haven't seen the tech blueprints yet so I dunno how well teched out it'll be, but I imagine it'll be top notch to support the huge concerts. The Wired Knight wrote:Actually that hasn't happened in years. I'm just oping there's the space for people this year since the LB Convention Center's stadium they used for the main events is small in comparison to the space available in Anaheim.
Expo went to LBCC this year because the Shriners booked ACC far in advance, otherwise it'd still be at Anaheim. If I understand correctly, LBCC is actually smaller, but AX is using the entire facility as opposed to just a portion of ACC as was done in the past, so it should balance out. The only big annoyance is that the hotels are spaced out all over the place.Rider4Z wrote: well supposedly expo has been moved to long beach this year because our numbers got so huge last year. i haven't been to the LB convention center but i've heard that it's bigger than anaheim's. so i suppose the main event hall will be big enough... but that's me
