Don't put it past them. They'd implement a new "shoe-bomb detection" fee because the x-ray machines they have now just aren't good enough.VicBond007 wrote:Airfare between most major airports in the US is up about 340% over last year, and they'd charge you an extra fee for wearing both shoes on the airplane if they could.NightMistress85 wrote: I dunno, with gas prices today, flying may not be too much more expensive and I'm sure in some people's cases, cheaper.
That being said, if you take a puddle jumper to BWI, the price is still about the same for whatever rediculous reason.
I was pricing southwest for DC to Ohio and it'd be about to same to drive. I didn't dare look at United, though I use them all the time. I rarely actually fill up my gas tank (I don't venture far), but I'd imagine it cracking $65-$70 to fill it and I would certainly need to refill to get to Ohio and back by car because it's pretty sucky on fuel economy. This is all hypothetical of course because I couldn't realistically drive the thing longer than a couple hours .
Yeah, I wasn't taking that into account.SecondChild wrote:If it were just me, that may well be true. But since it's me and three friends, it's much cheaper to carpool down in my car and have them split the gas money with me. A little tiring and probably more dangerous than flying, but much more affordable, even with the ridiculous gas prices.
