What editing software should I get?...

Alright, currently I'm using Windows Movie Maker 2 to create my videos, and most of you would agree that it is not the best software to use. So, I scrambled together some cash (robbed some old ladies, sold a few drugs, ect, ect) but I now face another problem. What program do I get? Vegas? Adobe? I just don't know...I relize peoples opinions about this differ, but I'd like to hear some suggestions since I have no idea which to get.

well, i used to use adobe premier, but I found that I just couldn't get the compression right on it and the quality on my vids pretty much sucked (see all my vids before my latest lol) but now I've started using Vegas 5, its a fair bit more complicated than premier, but its a lot more powerful in my opinion and I really like it more than premier. I was also able to spit out a really good quality wmv (is that possible?!? yes my friends, it is ;p) with Vegas. So in my opinion, go with Vegas, its a little tough to use, but once you get used to it, it works wonders (well for me anyway

there is no answer, fo you must decide yourself.

go to the program sites, and get trials(most have full function 30 day trials)

its best to find what you like before you plop the cash down.

that's actually very true, and I forgot about the trials, if you really can't decide, or even if you're sure, check 'em out before you decide finally

I use Movie Star 5, which comes with the Dazzle 80 capture device. I still have not explored all the special effects and stuff, since I am a relative newbie. Overall it is pretty good.
