Got a new project going on

I'm working really hard on a new website dedicated to the hosting of amv's. But it's a lot trouble getting such a thing up ya know! Especially because I'm working on it all alone (ain't I sad...).

I know the url sucks bigtime, but it's just to get started. The downloads will be from my own comp and that's what I'm currently working on. I've got my own ftp now, but it's still giving problems. So... If anyone has some skills on such a matter please let me know - I have 2 gb available for amv's now, but if everything works out, i'll increase that amount. Ow yeah, if you go and check the site out; it's still in a very early stage, so don't expect too much out of it yet.

Yay!! Now it's really finished. It looks marvellous! I exported it with the Panasonic MPEG1 System just now, but it's a huge file - 150 megs! I need some help on how to get it smaller, like Kwasek's Only In Dreams vid, which is 8 minutes, but only 78 megs or something like that. So anybody reading this, a little help on this matter is much appreciated!
I can't wait to get it online, so all you people out there can see it and LEAVE OPINIONS ON IT!!! It isn't a lot of trouble you know, 5 minutes at most!

On second thought, after viewing the vid a couple of times, I'm not so happy with the way I introduce Spike in the vid. I'm gonna work on that today, else the vid wouldn't be consequent. I just have to find an appropriate scene of Spike just sitting or standing deep in thought. Hmm... I wonder in which episode he does a thing like that...
I'm supposed to be driving right now, but that idiot instructor of mine went to the wrong house and now I have to wait for another hour... The moron. Now I woke up this early for nothing!

They Can't Take That Away From Me - the making of (final)

Ow my god... I really don't know how I pulled it off, but it's finished! I'm finally done and it feels great; a huge accomplishment and a 200% quality increase over my first amv! Man, this probably sounds cliché, but a vid like this one on Bebop hasn't been done yet I think; maybe it has been done, but I sure as hell haven't seen it! I just did a quick export with the microsoft MPEG-4 v2 codec and it looked quite nice - I only did it because I wanted to see how it turned out. Tomorrow I'm going to do my final export with the Panasonic MPEG system which delivers superior MPEG's.
I should also mention the lengt of the vid: 6 min and 35 sec!! A huge increase over Tragic Youth which was only 2 min and 26 sec! And the weird thing in all this is that it was easier to fill the 6 min vid. Ow well...
I don't know yet when it will be available for download; I'll have to discuss the matter with the guy who hosts my vids, because he had some bandwith problems recently. But don't worry, it won't take longer than 1 to 1 1/2 week.
I'm really too tired right now to write any more, so maybe tomorrow. I gotta get some sleep; I have driving lessons tomorrow and my niece is turning 21!

They Can't Take That Away From Me - the making of (part 2)

Today I've done some photoshopping for the vid; it turned out quite nice! I also had to deal with one of the hardest things uptil now; I have a scene of Edward surfing and then finding her father on the net, and I had to integrate a picture of her father neatly in there! I was a painful frame by frame procedure, but I'm happy with the way it turned out - I even managed to make it wobble like the other things on the net in Bebop (I did it by distorting the image in each frame, but it looks like 3D bumpmapping now!!).
I also want to mention that uptil now I haven't used a single canned transition or effect or whatsoever, and it looks very cool without them. It is so true that a vid looks more professional without them!
As last comment on the vid I would like to add that the soundtrack had to be stretched to 6 min 30 sec now! It's not that I am not competent to make the amv fit, but it's because it's about Faye, Jet, Edward and Spike (not just Spike/Julia/Vicious) - so it's a bit more than 1 min 30 sec for each character and believe me, it isn't very much!
I'm at about three quarters of the editing now. I'm gonna call it a day, tomorrow's another.
