I got so used to my old, unresponsive, heavy clunker that the super-sensitivity and light weight of this one is driving me crazy - but then, I raged when I had to get used to my desktop keyboard (and monitor) again after my laptop failed, and I'm enduring that pretty well now. This is just something that will take time.
I gave up on my new wireless mouse. If I moved it too far from the computer it wouldn't work, and the batteries barely lasted 24hrs. Even when I had it really close to the computer, I had to be careful because if I turned it the wrong way it wouldn't work. I really wanted to go back to an old one with a ball instead of a laser because I could control those better. I eventually compromised and got one with a laser and a wire. It still slides too easily for me to draw a straight line with it, but at least the wire is long enough to let me have it a few feet from the computer. I hate battery operated things with a vengeance. I went to Radio Shack looking for an extender cord for my headset and they tried to pawn a wireless battery operated headset off on me instead. I had to glare the poor misguided woman into giving me the cord I wanted. She was still shaking her head at me when I left. Why does everyone want battery operated things? Especially things that never leave the house. They must be getting their batteries a lot cheaper than I'm getting mine. I'll take a longer wire over a battery any day.
